Rockwell Collins Awarded $38 Million Contract to Upgrade E-2C Trainers

Rockwell Collins Awarded $38 Million Contract to Upgrade E-2C Trainers

Rockwell Collins has been awarded a contract to perform concurrency upgrades to two U.S. Navy E-2C Weapon System Trainers and one Simulated Maintenance Trainer. With options, the program has a potential value of $38 million over the life of the contract.

“With this award, we’re continuing our lead role in providing superior E-2 Hawkeye training solutions, a position we’ve earned because of our ability to bring high levels of fidelity to the training environment – an integral part of the Navy’s training curriculum,” said LeAnn Ridgeway, vice president and general manager of Simulation & Training Solutions for Rockwell Collins.

This latest upgrade program calls for Rockwell Collins to deliver operational software concurrency updates and instructor operator station improvements to enhance aircrew training and will incorporate Communications, Navigation, Surveillance/Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) capabilities for maintenance training. Technology refresh and other critical upgrades are also included in the program scope.

In addition to this latest E-2C contract, Rockwell Collins has been selected as the prime contractor for the major training systems on the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye, the Navy's replacement for the E-2C. These training systems include the Hawkeye Integrated Training System for Maintenance (HITS-M) and the Hawkeye Integrated Training System for Aircrew (HITS-A).

By leveraging strengths in avionic systems development and training systems design, Rockwell Collins delivers total integrated training solutions that span the entire training life cycle, from instructional systems design through fully integrated high-fidelity training systems and support.

Rockwell Collins is a pioneer in the development and deployment of innovative communication and aviation electronic solutions for both commercial and government applications. Our expertise in flight deck avionics, cabin electronics, mission communications, information management and simulation and training is delivered by more than 20,000 employees, and a global service and support network that crosses 27 countries.
