AW, Scandinavian Avionics Team for Danish Lynx Bid

Scandinavian Avionics and AgustaWestland Sign Cooperation Agreement

Scandinavian Avionics A/S is pleased to announce that it has signed a Heads of Agreement with AgustaWestland, a Finmeccanica company. Under the agreement, should the AW159 be selected for the Danish Maritime Helicopter Programme (MHP) Scandinavian Avionics A/S will provide a range of avionic support services to AgustaWestland.

As part of the wider Industrial Co-operation Programme both parties will cooperate on pursuing market opportunities in Denmark and internationally, for their respective products and services. Investigations are already underway on projects whereby AgustaWestland will assist Scandinavian Avionics A/S with training and development activities.

The agreement was signed by Geoff Hoon, Head of International Business, AgustaWestland and Michael R. Truelsen, CEO, Scandinavian Avionics A/S at a ceremony held in Copenhagen yesterday.

Geoff Hoon said at the signing “We are delighted to have signed this agreement with Scandinavian Avionics which will see our companies working together to win new business in Denmark and internationally. He added “This agreement also enables another leading Danish company to be involved in the support of the AW159 helicopter if it is selected for the Maritime Helicopter Programme, supporting the creation of new high technology jobs in Denmark.”

Michael R. Truelsen, CEO, Scandinavian Avionics, said “This HoA is of high value to our company in striving to continue our development and extension of our overall capabilities. In addition he said “With its wide scope of business and as a leading manufacturer of military as well as civilian operated helicopters, AgustaWestland is an extremely attractive partner for Scandinavian Avionics A/S. We look forward to further developing our core capabilities and jointly working with AgustaWestland on new areas of avionics support to military and civilian helicopter operators in Denmark as well as internationally.”

AgustaWestland and Danish company Systematic A/S signed a Heads of Agreement (HoA) in to jointly explore business opportunities worldwide. Both companies will also work towards the integration of the SitaWare range of systems with AgustaWestland’s helicopters and assist Systematic A/S with the development and international marketing of its products and services.

As a supplier of command and control technologies, military messaging and electronic warfare systems in the defence sector Systematic A/S and AgustaWestland will co-operate in developing new markets, as well as co-operating on the Denmark´s Maritime Helicopter Programme for which AgustaWestland is currently competing with the AW159 helicopter.
