CATIC Guyana Y-12II Training Program Completed

5 Pilots and 23 technicians & engineers of Guyana Defence Force (GDF) have successfully finished the specialist training offered by CATIC.

On May 25 2012, the conclusion ceremony of Guyana Y-12II air & ground staff training program and the spare-parts handover ceremony were held in Timai-He Air Force Base, Guyana.

GDF Chief of Staff said on the ceremonies that thanks to the Chinese government’s support and CATIC’s efforts, the air and ground staff’s abilities of operating and maintaining Y-12II aircraft were significantly improved. This is yet another successful collaboration between Guyana and China which will add value and technical competence to the force.

In 2011, CATIC signed the training agreement of Y-12II air & ground staff and supplying spare parts on the strength of Chinese government aids to Guyana.
