British Helicopters Collide, Killing One
Two Royal Air Force helicopters collided over western England on Wednesday, killing one person and injuring three, defense officials said.
The Ministry of Defense said two Squirrel training helicopters from the RAF Shawbury base -- home to the air force's helicopter training school -- collided about 150 miles northwest of London.
Four defense personnel were aboard the two aircraft, the ministry said. One was killed and one was seriously injured, while two had non life-threatening injuries.
The ministry didn't provide the cause of the crash or give the altitude of the aircraft. Television footage showed the helicopters' wreckage strewn over an open field.
