Logistics deal for A-29 Super Tucanos

Logistics deal for A-29 Super Tucanos

The Brazilian Air Force's fleet of A-29 Super Tucano aircraft will receive logistics support and services from the combat aircraft's manufacturer, Embraer.

The logistics contract, signed Wednesday, is for five years and is worth about $197 million and includes unexpected services.

The Brazilian Air Force operates 92 of the close support turboprop fighters, which can also be used as trainers.

Embraer said its logistics support program covers supplies for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repairs, and overhaul of components, support for the landing gear and propeller groups, and specialized technical support, as well as integrated logistics.

"It is a great pleasure to contribute to the readiness and operations of Brazil's fleet of A-29 Super-Tucano aircraft," said Eduardo Bonini Santos Pinto, senior vice president of operations and chief operating officer of Embraer Defense & Security. "PSLI is a proven solution model and it will fully meet the needs of the FAB in fulfilling its missions."
