Chang Wanquan meets with commander of Bulgarian Air Force
Chang Wanquan, state councilor and minister of national defense of the People's Republic of China (PRC), met with Constantin Popov, the visiting commander of the Bulgarian Air Force, and his party on the afternoon of July 3, 2013 in Beijing.
Chang Wanquan said that the Chinese side regards Bulgaria as a good friend and important cooperative partner, and is willing to make joint efforts with the Bulgarian side to further deepen mutual trust and expand mutually beneficial cooperation, so as to constantly push forward China-Bulgaria relations. The visit is the first official one that the leader of the Bulgarian Air Force has paid to China, and it will surely enhance mutual understanding and cooperation between the two militaries, especially those between the two air forces. The Chinese side is willing to work together with the Bulgarian side to further expand the areas of contacts and improve the effectiveness of cooperation, so as to push forward sustainable and healthy development of the relations between the two militaries.
Chang Wanquan also briefed the guests on China's path of peaceful development and national defense policy defensive in nature.
Popov said that it is one of the important diplomatic goals of Bulgaria to cement traditional Bulgaria-China friendship and seek closer bilateral cooperation in various fields. The Bulgarian Air Force looks forward to further increasing personnel contacts and expanding pragmatic exchanges and cooperation with the Air Force of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), so as to make contributions to healthy development of the relations between the two militaries.
