The Kenya Air Force Y-12 II Turbo Panda crashed in the Kanyonga area on August 3
This aircraft crashed on take-off from Dhobley airstrip, Somalia, while departing for Nairobi after delivering supplies to Kenyan soldiers operating with the UN AMISOM contingent.
All ten military personnel on board were taken to the Defence Forces Memorial hospital in Nairobi, where their condition was described as stable. The aircraft was badly damaged, with the port wing almost completely detached at the root and the port wingtip resting on the ground, while the undercarriage was also torn off.
