NATO Air Policing mission to be transferred from Denmark to Germany
On January 2 four F4 Phantom fighters of the German Air Force will land in the Šiauliai Air Base.
German air personnel will replace Danish troops currently on guard of the Baltic airspace with four F-16 Fighting Falcon fighters.
Official date of transfer is January 4. German air contingent will ensure security of the Baltic skies for the fifth time.
Media Representatives who wish to record landing of F4 Phantom fighters should register at 00370 41 59 21 51 (LITHAF Air Base) or e-mail: ieva.gulbiniene@mil.lt before Friday, December 30, 12.00 hrs. The registered media representatives should arrive at the Air Base (Lakūnų str. 3, Šiauliai) on Monday, January 2, 9.00 a.m. Tentative landing time - 9.35 a.m. In case the time is changed, media representatives will be informed.
Media representatives willing to take part in the rotation ceremony on January 4 should register at 00370 41 59 21 51 (LITHAF Air Base) or e-mail ieva.gulbiniene@mil.lt before January 3, 16.00 hrs. A separate notification will be released regarding the rotation of NATO air contingents.
