Nigeria to buy first three JF-17 Thunder fighter jets
Nigeria’s military has inked an agreement with Chengdu Aerospace Corporation and Pakistan Aeronautical Complex to purchase JF-17 Thunder fighter jets.
According to Nigeria’s federal budget approved for 2016 fiscal year, Nigerian Air Force signed a deal to buy three new JF-17 Thunder fighter jets.
For 2016, Nigeria has issued USD $15.88 million for the purchase. However, the proposed 2017 budget lists USD $68.76 million for “platform acquisitions … for counter air, counter surface, air ops for strategic effect and air support operations.”
In December, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has celebrated the delivery of its first Super Mushshak basic trainer from Pakistan at a special ceremony.
