Australian Defence supports Papua New Guinea elections
Election officials and materials are being moved out to remote polling locations in Papua New Guinea by Australian Defence Force Blackhawk.
The ADF is contributing to the Australian Whole-of-Government efforts to support Papua New Guinea's national election process. The support mission follows a direct request for assistance from PNG authorities. The mission is based on Combined Joint Task Force (CJTF) 630, comprising elements of the ADF and New Zealand Defence Force. The CJTF provides specialist support capabilities, particularly helicopters and logistic assets that are not readily available in PNG.
