Cessna 150 Down In Columbia County
An accident involving a Cessna 150 in Columbia county, OR last week fatally injured a flight instructor and student pilot.
The flight originated in Vancouver, WA, Wednesday evening. Flight instructor Todd Norrish, 47, and his 17-year-old student Jimmy Kravets were found with the wreckage about 0300 Thursday morning in a hay field in Columbia county near Goble, OR. The search was begun after Norrish's wife reported him overdue, and authorities picked up a signal from the airplane's ELT.
The Associated Press reports that the Cessna is registered to Aero Maintenance company in Vancouver. Columbia County Sheriff Jeff Dickerson said that the impact appeared to have occurred at a high rate of speed. Both Norrish and Kravets were apparently killed on impact.
