China – Shandong Province plans 14 SAR helipads along coast

The coast of Shandong Province should soon see a total of 14 helistops built to provide SAR helicopters with suitably located landing points to bring casualties from maritime emergencies to hospitals.

The will be located at Binzhou, Dongying, Weifang, Weihai, Rizhao, Yantai, and Qingdao, with some of these cities having multiple pads.

According to reports, the province’s Maritime Search and Rescue Center are developing an even wider network of assigned landing sites for maritime emergencies, including a further 11 on oil support platforms, and 29 on ships.

China’s SAR helicopter fleet includes Eurocopter EC225, Sikorsky S76C++ and S92
