Canadair (Northrop) VF-5A Freedom Fighter
: Single-seat fighter version for the Venezuelan Air Force (13).
# In Canada, licence production was undertaken by Canadair for the CF-5A versions of the F-5A (Canadian Armed Forces designation CF-116) and for versions designated NF-5A for the Royal Netherlands air force. Some CF-5A's can be fitted with a Vinten 70mm camera nose and are then designated CF-5A(R). The CF-5A's can also be fitted with refuelling probes, but neither these nor the reconnaissance nose can be carried by the two-seat CF-5D's. The RF-5A reconnaissance version is equipped with four KS-92A cameras mounted in the nose. Venezuela operates a mix of single and two-seat F-5's known locally as VF-5A and VF-5B's.
