Note: Following the collapse of the former government in 2021, the Taliban seized significant quantities of light armor and artillery. However, their current military posture remains that of a light infantry force optimized for internal security and border control. While they have managed to return some seized heavy equipment to service, they lack advanced integrated air defense systems (IADS) or a formal strategic missile command as of 2026. Operational efforts are primarily directed against the National Resistance Front and Islamic State cells.
