SpecOp AC-130s logged big hours in January
Air Force Special Operations Command AC-130 gunships flew enough missions in January to have four of the flying tanks aloft on combat missions on most nights.
Gunships logged 889 flight hours, while overall AFSOC planes and helicopters flew 1,400 hours on missions for U.S. Central Command.
Here, by aircraft model, are January’s flight hours and sorties.
* AC-130H Spectre: 91 hours, 22 sorties.
* AC-130U Spooky: 798 hours, 108 sorties.
* MC-130H Combat Talon II: 113 hours, 86 sorties.
* MC-130P Combat Shadow: 184 hours, 41 sorties.
* MH-53J/M Pave Low: 213 hours, 67 sorties.
