Cameroon Air Force is newest CN235 operator

Cameroon has become the 16th sub-Saharan country to operate Airbus light and medium aircraft following delivery of a CN235 medium transport.

More than 270 CN235 transport aircraft have been built for over 40 operators in 28 countries worldwide. This is seen by the European manufacturer as proof of its robustness. It can carry a six ton payload and works well in hot, dusty and humid conditions and on unprepared runways.

The aircraft have, to date, accumulated more than a million flight hours making it one of the most common light/medium transports in service internationally.

The CN235 is both flexible and reliable with good short take-off and landing capability. It cabin can be easily reconfigured for various missions including trooping, cargo, mixed loads and for medical evacuation.

It two General Electric GE-CT7-9C3 turboprop engines each deliver 1 870 shp and it has a maximum cruise speed of 250 knots (450km/h).

Cameroon’s CN235 is the 276th of type to be delivered by Airbus Military.
