Falcon 6X Gains Momentum as VIP and Strategic Aircraft for Global Military Operators

Dassault’s long-range jet finds new roles in Ireland, Serbia, Ghana, and Belgium amid growing demand for multi-role government platforms
Dassault Aviation’s Falcon 6X is rapidly gaining traction among military and government operators worldwide. Originally designed as a long-range business jet, the aircraft is now being adopted for VIP transport and strategic missions.
Serbia became the first military customer, receiving Falcon 6X YU-RSB in April 2025 to replace its aging Falcon 50. Ireland followed with a €53 million contract signed in December 2024, receiving its aircraft in December 2025. The Irish Air Corps designated it as a Strategic Reach Aircraft, capable of long-range transport, medical evacuation, and diplomatic missions.
Ghana hosted a demonstration flight at Accra Air Force Base, marking the aircraft’s first landing on the African continent. Belgium is expected to order the Falcon 6X to replace its Falcon 7X VIP jet, OO-LUM.
🛰️ Strategic Update: Falcon 6X’s Military Variant and Global Expansion (January 2026)
1. SIGINT Variant Debuts
On December 17, 2025, Dassault Aviation conducted the maiden flight of a militarized Falcon 6X configured for signals intelligence (SIGINT). This version integrates advanced sensors and command systems, enabling roles in surveillance, electronic warfare, and coordination with fighter jets and drones.
The aircraft’s transformation from a civil jet to a military platform highlights its modular design and strategic versatility, making it suitable for both VIP transport and intelligence missions.
2. Ireland’s Strategic Reach Capability
Ireland’s Falcon 6X, delivered on December 16, 2025, is now operational at Casement Aerodrome. It replaces the Learjet 45 and complements the Air Corps’ Airbus C-295 fleet. With a range exceeding 5,000 nautical miles, it can reach the U.S. West Coast non-stop, supporting EU Presidency logistics and global deployments.
3. Market Position and Future Orders
• Belgium is expected to finalize its Falcon 6X order in early 2026, transitioning from the Falcon 7X.
• Ghana is evaluating the platform for regional VIP and medevac roles.
• Middle East interest is growing, with UAE and Saudi Arabia reportedly considering the aircraft for command and control missions.
