Sokol Provides Modernized 15 MiG-31 Foxhound-B

Aircraft factory Sokol provides modernized 15 MiG-31 planes to Defense Ministry in 2012.

OAO Nizhny Novgorod Aircraft Factory Sokol (NAZ Sokol) provided to the Russian Defense Ministry 15 MiG-31 planes, which were modernized under a long-term contract, in 2012, Alexander Karezin, general director of the factory, said.

NAZ Sokol is the part of OAO United Aircraft Building Corporation, OAK.

The Defense Ministry signed the contract with NAZ Sokol for the modernization of up to sixty MiG-31 planes by 2019 in 2011.
