More Sukhoi Su-30SMs arrive in Kazakhstan
A Further four Sukhoi Su-30SM fighters have been handed over to the Kazakhstan Air Defence Force (KADF).
Bort numbers ‘09 Red’ and ‘10 Red’ flew in to the 604th Air Base at Taldykorgan on December 19, followed by ‘11 Red’ and ‘12 Red’ on December 25. The latest jets bring the total in service to 12.
Before the newest arrivals, the most recent deliveries were in December 2017, when ‘07 Red’ and ‘08 Red’ were received – see Kazakhstan receives twomore Su-30SMs, February 2018, p18. To date the KADF has ordered 26 of the type, but eventually plans to acquire 36. Another eight jets are due to arrive this year.
